FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY: The best of… August 2016

Every month i round up my favourite dishes / restaurants i have visited, with hopefully some helpful tips on where to go and what to try in and around Manchester.

Here’s what happened in August.

Tariff and Dale
I had always thought of Tariff & Dale as a Northern Quarter bar, but recently discovered that it does in fact have a great basement restaurant. Famous for their sausage rolls but this restaurant has a wide range of wholesome dishes on the menu. We recommend the flat iron steak…

Normally it is all about the steak for me at Hawksmoor but this time i decided to be adventurous as a few people had recommended their seafood / fish dishes to me. And i am so happy i did. My favourites were the scallops and the salmon starters.

The Pit Smokehouse
Getting a table here is like winning the lottery, on our 3rd attempt we managed it, and it was definitely worth the wait. We ordered everything! There is nothing like a smoke house tapas! Next time though we need to save ourselves for the desserts!

Named as a fine dining restaurant i never thought this would be a place i would go to, but Grafene is very welcoming inside, with a wide range on offer from bar snacks, great cocktails then the main menu, they also do a great looking afternoon tea.
