The beautiful White Island
Elaine had one request for 2014… We NEED to go on a beach holiday. I did not need much persuading.
After much dilemma over when and where we finally settled for Ibiza in September, and again after lots of internet searches we found this little gem in Cala Llonga for a great price. (Check out their trip advisor page)
Have you ever arrived in a town or city and thought man this feels like home?
That’s how I felt about Cala Llonga in Ibiza. I can’t put my finger on it because it isn’t the most ‘perfect’ place in the world but in fact for me, it felt like it was.
Cala Llonga is a small town on the East coast of the island, it is everything you would expect for a ‘tourist town’ plus more!
Walking down the main road you will find a wide selection of restaurants, bars and souvenir shops leading to the beach. Once explored you will find quirky beach restaurants and boutique clothing shops too along with the Amante beach club on the 2nd beach in Cala Llonga.
Cocomotion was at the top of the main road and even still, it only took us 10 minutes leisurely stroll down to the sandy cove of cala llonga beach.
The apartments are run by an Italian family, with Roberto in charge, and you couldn’t ask for more friendlier and helpful staff they really did make us feel at home.
Our apartment was huge too!
Our days in Ibiza mainly consisted of lazing on the beach and nice meals with a few cheeky cocktails included too.
But on the days we were feeling adventurous we took 2 day trips, very easy day trips.
Cala Llonga has 2 buses one to Ibiza Town (approx 3 euros each way) and the other to Santa Eulalia (approx 5 euros each way)
Day trip to Ibiza Town
We hopped on the bus that dropped us off in the centre of Ibiza town, we had a look around the markets and the shops then walked up to the top old town castle.
Day trip to Es Canar
This trip was slightly more adventurous… we hopped on the bus to Santa Eulalia then changed for a bus to Es Canar. But this was like a market lovers HEAVEN! On Wednesday’s in Ibiza it is all about the Hippy Market in Es Canar. We spent the whole day mooching around the markets and then around the town of Es Canar.
One of the stand out moments of the trip was being able to see the sunrise over Cala Llonga’s beach cove, this really was beautiful.
I am well and truly in love with Ibiza and can’t wait to go back, hire a car and explore the island fully.
